douwe eisenga

Pianist & composer

Pianist and composer Douwe Eisenga creates sparkling music for sparkling minds, a hypnotizing mix of rhythm, haunting melodies, and compelling lyricism. Honest, down to earth peoples-music. Often subdued and sober with a generous force: the underlying melodies carve themselves into the soul of the listener.
In 2017 he composed the moving For Mattia. Since its release, the composition has consistently ranked high in the Dutch Classical Top 400.

From dusk till dawn

Five concerts in a row. In the transition from dusk to darkness, pianist/composer Bastiaan Brink will play the piano recital ‘From Dusk till Dark – Reduced Musical Landscapes’ during five evenings.

From the primal tones of Pärt to the heartbeat of life in Ravel, from the searching movements in the work of Eisenga, Debussy and Ten Holt to the melancholic sounds of Beethoven, from a descent into darkness in Ustvolskaya to the return to the light in Bach.

The series of five consecutive concerts starts on April 2 at the Bergkerk in Deventer. The program includes my ‘For Mattia’ and ‘Searching’.
